When living in an aged care home, care needs may increase over time. Ageing in place policies means a resident is not required to move to another facility when their care needs become higher. These needs may include decreases in cognitive function and memory that may cause a resident to wander, even if they have never wandered in the past.
Due to their failing memory and declining ability to communicate, it is vital to have wandering resident solutions in place to maintain these residents’ safety and well-being.
Our wander systems are designed to assist your home in preventing wandering residents from exiting the premises or entering high-risk areas.
At-risk residents are provided a discrete bracelet which activates when they approach a protected door or area of interest. This will then activate an alarm and, if required, also lock the door and alert carers via the nurse call system (pagers, DECT phones, annunciators, etc.)
Because each home is unique and we offer a range of systems, we will arrange to have one of our technicians visit your care home to determine the best solution and installation requirements so that we can recommend the best solution for your environment.
We will install and maintain your system to ensure the safety of your wander risk residents.
